150,000 or 15,000?[edit]

There's a disparity between the compensation said to be paid to the French for this incident - on this page the amount is given as 150,000 yen, but on the Seppuku page the number is given as 15,000. That entry predates this one by a couple of years. I'm not able to locate a source for either online, could anyone respond with a verifiable source for one figure or the other? - Corporal Tunnel 14:41, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Date with Seppuku[edit]

The Seppuku page states that the Sakai incident took place 15 February 1868 The Sakai Incident page states that the Sakai incident took place 8 March 1868 70.52.5.44 23:02, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Was Sakai harbor open or closed to foreign ships? Differences between English and German text[edit]

The English version of this text currently states "At the time, the port of Sakai was open to foreign ships", while the German version states "... Hafen von Sakai, der zu diesem Zeitpunkt für fremde Schiffe geschlossen war... "(ie. "... the harbor of Sakai, which at that time was closed to foreign ships..."). Which statement is correct? Was the harbor open or closed to foreign ships? Are there any sources for either statement? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:16B8:64D5:4100:B8C1:7C65:C34E:AD10 (talk) 20:54, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
