Sandi Sissel Entry Reviewed

[edit]

After reviewing the entry for Sandi Sissel, I have found that overall the entry is informative and helpful in providing more information about the filmmaker. My edits mostly consisted of tidying the writing. There were a few typos that I fixed and a sentence that needed restructuring. I also added internal links to other wikipedia pages in order to make the overall page more informative. I also made the citation format consistent throughout and properly formatted two citations that were left in the text as open references. A few things could be added to the page to make it more informative and comprehensive. I would suggest dividing the information provided in the 'Biography' heading into 'Early Life', 'Education' and 'Career'. Also try to find out where she went to college. I would also suggest adding synopses of her most notable films in order to provide the reader with a better idea of the filmmaker's contributions. I would also suggest adding the heading 'Filmography' and providing a list of the films and television series that Sandi contributed to. Also if she has won any awards, provide information about which awards she has won. There are two phrases that need to be sourced. The first, “In her pursuit of this career she has gained a great deal of respect from her colleagues as a female working behind the camera.” This sentence would be much more effective if backed up by a quote from someone suggesting this. Wikipedia demands that every claim be backed up by a previous publication. The second phrase, “She has a very impressive filmography that includes many well known, important documentaries.” would also be more effective with evidence either a quote from someone saying that she is impressive, or don't use that word. Or listing the notable documentaries would further support this claim. Overall, the entry is informative and follows the proper formatting but there is room to add more information and by reorganizing the existing information you could make it more clear for the reader, especially if they are looking for info under a particular heading. László Kovács

[edit]

According to László Kovács (cinematographer), on the 35th anniversary of Easy Rider in 2004: "At one location in Texas, a young woman came up to me. She told me that she was a film student and had decided to specialize in cinematography after watching me work. It was Sandi Sissel, who has since become a very talented cinematographer." - https://web.archive.org/web/20120211125811/http://www.moviemaker.com/directing/article/easy_rider_35_years_later_2921 Matthead (talk) 16:20, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
