Interesting information, yet strange[edit]

The section on development seems written by someone with little to no knowledge of normal game development. Almost all professionally developed games (3d shooter, puzzle game, hack n slash, or whatever), start with paper maps iterations. The "brush stroke tool" is one of the fundamental tools of most editors, and roughly boxing out the environment and making placeholder assets is one of the common uses of it. So the article is interesting, but reads more like a developer commentary from promotional literature since it makes their use of industry standard practices seem groundbreaking or innovative. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.119.244.125 (talk) 17:22, 13 November 2009 (UTC) Definitely. Wikipedia isn't a special features disc and this part of the article has little relevance to the game. The fact that the game was heavily based on Super Metroid? Sure. The fact that it was prototyped? No. --80.193.149.95 (talk) 11:00, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Look at more other articles on WP about video games. Development, even if it employs the same usual tricks for other game development, is a critical part of any article. Remember that not everyone reading this article is a gamer, a game developer, or even familiar with computers. Thus, while such sections may be rudamentary for those in the field, they are completely appropriate with this type of detail for everyone else. --MASEM (t) 13:42, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that this information should remain - As a gamer with little development knowledge I found it genuinely interesting to read this. I wish other games' articles had similar sections. 91.125.234.171 (talk) 14:26, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nolan North's association to Shadow Complex[edit]

Jason Flemming (voiced by Nolan North)[citation needed]

There is no reference to Shadow Complex on his Nolan North's IMDB page. This information is widely repeated online, but not cited, and assumed because the characters voice sounds similar to Nolan North's. Until a proper, confirmed source is cited, this information should remain removed. (I may be wrong but it still needs to be cited properly) Pentarix (talk) 20:10, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Working Titles[edit]

Considering adding a very brief reference to the working titles for this game: Empire and Empire: Alpha Complex, but not entirely sure how to incorporate them. There's still an article on this game called Empire (working title) (should be incorporated then made a redirect here, but I don't the procedure) and used to be one called Empire: Alpha Complex (now redirecting here). They could be used in reference to the Empire series of books that the game's based on, or added to the development section, maybe near the beginning, but I don't have any definite ideas. If anyone else sees a good way to do this feel free, otherwise (barring objections) I'll probably add it however I can when I find the time. --xensyriaT 15:09, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

we could leave it alone..[edit]

There's precedent to leave the article(s) as-is. No need to try and cram an entire franchise into one page. Somehow, i believe it would diminish the individual parts...is there really a need to consolidate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by anon629 68.192.86.63 (talk) 21:28, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Metroid?[edit]

This game looks a lot like metroid... grenade packs, missile packs, foam packs/missile tanks, super missile tanks, superbomb tanks and health packs/energy tanks and so on with suit upgrades save rooms... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.184.191.146 (talk) 11:39, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reception[edit]

So i came here to expand the reception section, adding more reviews to the article, all of which come from reliable sources such as Game Revolution, The Guardian and Computer and Video Games, and i found that all my edits were reverted. Even though the template review says that the custom aggregators and reviewers limit is set to 10, WP:VG/S doesn't cite an exact number of reviews which can be listed in the reception section. I know that every game review in existence is not needed but i don't think 4 or more reviews will negatively impact the article. Hakken (talk) 09:50, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
