What needs fixing in the references? MiS-Saath (talk) 11:10, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

POV

[edit]

A well-written article I must say; good job MiS-Saath. However, it seems to me that it presents the case from a single point of view and it does not even consider the mere possibility he might have been guilty. Cheers! Λua∫Wise (Operibus anteire) 05:44, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are two questions here. First is the allegation of show trial, which means nothing relating to shafiq ades' guilt or innocence, it discusses the trial process. I didn't find any scholar protecting the claim that it was indeed a fair trial or that otherwise rebuffs the allegations. Considering the relevant sources and the lack of sources to the contrary, i fail to see any reason not to call it a show trial. if you find sources claiming otherwise or rebuffing the claims made by mendes and gat, you're be welcome to add it (as long as it's scholarly and properly sourced). As far as my reading of sources goes, i've yet to encounter one. As is, to my best of knowledge, the article presents a neutral POV and concentrates on facts. Well, at this point in time, I don't have access to such sources. However, I am fairly certain that the Tel Aviv University might contain a thing or two about it. Λua∫Wise (Operibus anteire) 13:27, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I doubt it. even the most staunchly anti-zionist historian will not disgrace himself into such a blunt act. and i did read some such works at tel aviv university, but nothing relating to ades. MiS-Saath (talk) 15:41, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
see this for example, [1]. Shlaim doesn't expand on this (naturally, because it ruins some of his theories) but admits that the circumstances around ades' trial were 'dubious'. MiS-Saath (talk) 15:43, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
