National record?
[edit]The time of 9.90s would be a national record, according to National records in the 100 metres. The old record (9.98s) stood since 1977, so this would be quite remarkable. Not less remarkable would be that Reynaldo Espinosa appears to have run 9.96s in the very same race, also breaking the old record. The source used at his article, [1] does not include information whether the wind was below the allowable limit, which would be interesting to know. Renerpho (talk) 01:27, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Hildreth gazzard: since you edited both articles, I wonder if you have a source that talks about the wind, or the legality of the result in general? Thanks! Renerpho (talk) 01:29, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- Yes huge leaps in progress for both of them. This article states the wind was 0.0 p/s
- [1] and the Track & Field Gazette tweeted a video of the race which stated the wind was the same 0.0 [2] Hildreth gazzard (talk) 02:48, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- The times are appearing in quite a few sources now. Obviously I will remove if turns out to be a mistake Hildreth gazzard (talk) 02:52, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- Wind confirmed as 0.0 on the world athletics website [3] Hildreth gazzard (talk) 11:48, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
