Plagiarism on the Internet[edit]

Well, this is a pretty safe bet for the reference: http://www.answers.com/topic/shecky-greene I think this kind of thing is what gives Wikipedia a bad name. While I'm sure the world isn't rushing to view this page, it certainly is worth improving. 72.24.182.238 03:19, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Menk[reply]

punchline[edit]

"Greene says that Jay Leno once told him that his all-time favorite joke is one Greene recounted about Frank Sinatra saving his life. Five guys were beating up Greene (on Sinatra's orders), and then he heard Sinatra say, "OK. He's had enough." (Don Rickles on David Letterman, Oct 15 2009)"

Way to kill a joke, people!Ordinary Person (talk) 15:11, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not the way I heard it. By Greene's own admission, he was a degenerate gambler and he owed a casino a lot of money and Sinatra happened upon a beating Greene was taking for not paying up and Sinatra did break the thing up by saying, "Enough, boys." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Johncheverly (talkcontribs) 19:09, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Victim of Bernie Madoff?[edit]

I removed a passage that claimed Greene was a victim - to the tune of $3 million - of Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme. I am unable, however, to find any independent evidence to support that claim. All I can find on the internet are copy-and-paste replicates of the original, un-sourced Wikipedia passage, which of course hardly qualify as reliable sources. Citation #2 of the article does mention the claim, but it is not definitive and does not offer a direct quote from Greene himself. I also note that although Greene makes no mention of it on his own webpage (perhaps not a surprise), he is not listed on the Wikipedia page "List of Investors in Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities," even though that list is extensive and explicitly includes entertainers (e.g., Kevin Bacon). If anyone can find an independent source(s) for the Madoff claim, please restore the passage. JoJo Anthrax (talk) 09:39, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rquote needs reformatting[edit]

A "quote" pops up in the middle of the second "Career" paragraph with right alignment. This not only does not appear to be a quote, but it appears to have been reformatted automatically by "Rquote"(?). I apologize for not knowing how to fix this formatting glitch, but someone should repair it. Drbb01 (talk) 00:47, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
