Requested move
[edit]Propose that It be moved per the Wikipedia:Naming conventions (comics) guideline, to fall in line with all the others using (comics). Anyone have strong feelings and good reason why not? MURGH disc. 13:57, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Good idea. Pepso 14:53, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- So it should be 'Sidney Smith (comics)', right? Confirm this and I'll move it. ike9898 (talk) 17:57, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Can you clarify this sentence?
[edit]"He also delivered chalk talks..." What exactly is a chalk talk? ike9898 (talk) 17:54, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, almost two years, but I finally put up a Chalk talk page. Pepso2 (talk) 16:15, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Format of page
[edit]When I go to this entry, I see a huge reproduction of a comic on the left and a photo on the right; I have to scroll down to see any text, which is squeezed into a narrow column to the right of the comic. If it's my browser or whatever, I guess it's my problem, but if that's the way the page looks to the general public, it's terrible and needs to be fixed. Oral history:
[edit]My grandfather, Victor Beckstrom, was a painter who worked on the Smith property. He described the place, including the statue, often. When he described Smith, my grandfather said he was a 'good man, a little strange'. Smith would 'lock himself in his studio with a box of cigars and not come out until the week's strips were done. His food was passed through a panel in the door or set on a table/the floor. He never saw anyone until he left the room.' From what I remember, my grandfather was very impressed with the man. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.176.228.195 (talk) 16:56, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

I am interested in adding content to Sidney Smith's bio. I live in one of the houses he owned(built) and have developed great interest in his life and times. I have done a fair amount of research on him using the Chicago Tribune archive of his obituary. Also, the Lake Geneva, WI public library has a collection of info on him and the LG historical society has a nice exhibit devoted to him.
I haven't edited a Wikipedia page yet, so I am asking for a little guidance and some discussion about what should be included. Some things also need to be changed. Thanks Slepicka1 18:46, 2 November 2007 (UTC) |
