[edit]The article Indian silk, which only contains a few lists probably should move to this article which has a larger quantity of information.--Balthazarduju (talk) 21:00, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Origin of Silk started in India or China - Facts needs to be studied afresh.
[edit]- / I strongly believe that Silk was first produced in India and not in China, as per the scientific research of Harvard Scientist also evidence of producing Silk was witnessed by these Scientists in the Indus Valley Civilization. In fact no Indian prior to 0-500 BC ever visited China but there are ample evidences that Chinese scholars started coming to India around 500 BC. I believe that inflow of Chinese Scholars started to India immediately after obtaining the silk secret knowledge from India and realizing the importance of Silk knowledge and its commercial uses & values. Thus this secret knowledge of converting Raw Silk into Silk Textiles secretly reached China from India and started flourishing there around 500 BC. On the other hand in India by some manipulations the original knowledge of producing Silk vanished in India itself or was forced to vanish here.
Otherwise, how it is possible that the knowledge which originated in India and was existing in India since the days of Indus Valley Civilization could not flourish here after 500 BC. Although after this period only it started flourishing in China. I believe that there can always be a miscalculation in determining the period of Indus Valley and the start of Sericulture in China and Historians and Scientists should take more pains to bring the real truth behind this story. To bring this story before the world I have made a small Video film in the name of “The Secret Story of Mulberry Birds” and have placed it on my You Tube Music Channel “Ravindrakk1”. Those who feel interested may view that short Video film to get an idea only, as the Video is based on a imaginary story only. I am hopeful that more authentic research would be done on this topic and the History would be corrected as relating to Origin of Silk. Ravindra K Kapoor, India — Preceding unsigned comment added by
