Status transformation

The work I do uses this term to describe something VERY different...a radical change in a culture such as the U.S. attitude toward driving under the influence of alcohol due to MAAD. To my knowledge this is the more widely accepted definition. I agree the term should be changed...or at least add other definitions, examples and references.
