Requested move

The result of the proposal was no consensus to move with no prejudice against a new move request with new evidence that demonstrates that the English title is not commonly used. --regentspark (comment) 20:30, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Something Fishy (film)Pas très catholique

Notified Emeraude (talk · contribs), Lugnuts (talk · contribs)

This move has been suggested by Emeraude. I agree and we have arranged that I will create the request. Rationale as follows:

  • Both Allmovie (AllRovi) and IMDb redirect SF to the French title Ptc (follow WP:RS written in English as exemplified in this case by Allmovie):
  • Just Searching for the English title yeilds no hits on the first few results pages.
  • Most articles link to the French title.
  • Capitalisation: this is the correct French capitalisation, again as used by Allmovie and IMDb. A redirect could be created from PTC to Ptc if anyone wishes to do so.
  • Diacritics: there is already a redirect from Pas tres catholique. The sources use the accent (guideline: WP:DIACRITICS).

Notes for the closer:

  • The article was previously moved in the other direction, per WP:NCF, WP:UE, but in this case the English title does not appear to have established itself, so continuing to use it for the article title does not seem justified.
  • This would be a move-over-redirect as the target has been edited. I don't think the current redirect's edit history need be preserved.
  • I will watch for the closure and tidy up afterwards as necessary.

Point about IMDB's title from WP:NCF - "It should also be noted that the IMDb always lists films by their original-language title regardless of how common the translated titles are; therefore it has no bearing on debates regarding which title a film article should have."
