Copyvio
[edit]The Biography section was a near complete reporduction of http://www.4to40.com/legends/index.asp?id=818 and thus a copyvio. Thats why I removed, it. No content should be pasted like that. The section needs to be redone, retaining all the information that the article provides plus more. But text should not be copy-pasted. --soum (0_o) 10:22, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
EDIT: I think that website is copied from Wikipedia rather than the other way round, because I wrote the skeleton of the Biography section. I certainly made that Awards list to include the ones it does and no other source on the internet is as all-inclusive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Falak11mufc (talk • contribs) 14:56, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
Controversy
[edit]The theme covering the ongoing tussle between Sonu Nigam and reporter Subhash Jha should be placed under new section headed Controversy. Hope you all agree with me.

- It is proposed to merge the West Bengal United Minority Council into the controversy section in the Sonu Nigam article as the WBUMC article is an orphan and its only content relates to Nigam. Your feedback is welcome. Rangasyd (talk) 18:04, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

Moved
[edit]I've moved the page to Sonu Nigam as all the films, without exception, credit him as NIGAM, which means that it's his stage name, regardless of how his fansite refers to him. Regards, Shahid • Talk2me 00:50, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Singing style
[edit]The 'singing style' section is not (i think) is not that related to the article. Should be removed or not . Let me know. Jitazg (talk) 06:25, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
Why would you say it's unrelated? I have checked that you have been removing huge content without discussion. If you keep on making changes like that you will soon be blocked. All statements in that portion are properly sourced. Please stay away from removing large portions of content without discussion Navonedu — Preceding undated comment added 09:33, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
What's related ? its not a blog where you will write about who follows him who likes him. Jitazg (talk) 16:04, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
All the sources are unreliable. Jitazg (talk) 16:04, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
Sonu Nigam's Sister - Meenal Nigam
[edit]Hello, Sonu Nigam has another sister Meenal Nigam who's name has not been mentioned in his bio. Can someone help to check how this can be added please? Below are a few citations:
https://www.apnnews.com/a-magical-evening-with-meenal-nigam-at-justbe-resto-cafe/ Shreyjadav (talk) 09:42, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- The sister is not notable, so we don't need to mention her and Google search is NOT a reliable source. Theroadislong (talk) 09:46, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- I work closely with Mr. Sonu Nigam and he has personally requested for this to be added. How can we make this happen please? Shreyjadav (talk) 12:09, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Shreyjadav: Wikipedia doesn't work like that. You need to find WP:Independent sources that explicitly mention that Meenal Nigam is a sister of Sonu Nigam. Even if it is proven, we can only add her name in the 'Early and personal life' of this article, not in the infobox since Meenal Nigam doesn't have an article, making her non-notable. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:29, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- In that case, even his wife does not have an article, so how is that name still there? Shreyjadav (talk) 05:42, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Shreyjadav: Spouses are supposed to be added in the infobox if sourced per Template:Infobox person documentation. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:48, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Got it thank you.
- In this case since Meenal Nigam does not have an article, if we are able to create an article on her, will we be able to add it later? Shreyjadav (talk) 06:58, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Shreyjadav: It depends on WP:GNG (notability). You have to first make a draft article and wait for it to get reviewed by a page reviewer. If they find the subject to be notable, they'll move the article to namespace, which is when the article can be listed in the infobox. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:34, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
