baseball v other sports[edit]

Perhaps there should eventually be an article Brooklyn baseball. After this article includes more on other sports and, I presume, something about Brooklyn as a "breeding ground" for sports people. The article should also cover horse racing and horse breeding.

map, scope[edit]

Already the article names to Williamsburg and Bed-Stuy as (neighborhood or independent town?) locations of the two early ballparks. Reference to a map will be useful. Eventually explanation of the scope of Brooklyn will be needed, too. For example, do we cover horse racing in modern Brooklyn? Were racetracks, not to mention farms, located in outlying towns that only later became part of Brooklyn? Or Queens, because "Sports in Brooklyn" should cover the sporting venues of Brooklynders. If the City of Churches required them to go to the track somewhere else, that should be said. --P64 22:16, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
