Random deleting FTL
[edit]Next time somebody thinks there's a problem... It would be really nice to get some notification instead of having to randomly browse through and see how a page is going :) Mathias Grayfox 04:49, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- Put this page on your watchlist by clicking watch at the top of the article. It alerts you to any changes to the articles on your watch list. Helpful when you have over 300 articles on that list. Mkdwtalk 08:32, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Stgeorgescrest.gif
[edit]Image:Stgeorgescrest.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit]A quick Internet search seems to indicate editor Felix Hohne is closely related to the subject of the article. Said editor should probably recuse themselves from editing this page. —Joeyconnick (talk) 23:33, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
Douglas Edward Harker book
[edit]Does anyone have access to "Saints: The Story of St. George's School for Boys, Vancouver" by Douglas Edward Harker? This school seems almost entirely non-notable except for the existence of this book, and in fact I found it while searching for sources before proposing deletion. There may be potential for a good article here, depending on the contents of this book. But without it I fear the article has no hope of being appropriate for the wiki. - I was looking for additional sources as well, this is one of those articles that slipped through all those years ago. Couldn’t find anything notable about this school. I removed a lot of puffery that has been added over the years, presumably by people connected with the school. Equine-man (talk) 07:56, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, that's how I came across it, I saw your edits on recent changes (thank you by the way). I'm not comfortable saying this school isn't notable given that a book about its history was published, seemingly independently of the school itself (there is another book but it appears to be co-authored by the school). But then again, the entire article relying on a single secondary source isn't great either. I'm entirely unsure how to proceed here. WPscatter t/c 08:01, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- AFD it? That would get uninvolved editors having a look at it. Equine-man (talk) 08:06, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- Done. I asked on the Teahouse as well and apparently the publisher of this book seems to publish anything people will pay them for, so the book may not establish notability anyway. Apparently these by-alumni-for-alumni books are pretty common, or at least they used to be. First I'm hearing of it, but I can easily believe it. WPscatter t/c 08:54, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
