[edit]

I'm removing the reference to the Stadium being 1/3 the size of Washington, DC seeing as this is physicically impossible. The stadium would have to cover over 20 square miles. --jd4508

Now the Olympics are over, has its name reverted to Stadio Grande Torino? Erath 10:48, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it has. CapPixel 21:23, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This business with 1/3 the size of Washington D.C.'s stadium would make sense, as the Turin stadium seats 30k and the American football stadium in Washington D.C. seats 3 times as many. -- Mareklug talk 17:14, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]

I've now listed this article for a Requested move.

Stadio Olimpico (Turin)Stadio Grande Torino. The name of this stadium has been changed following the conclusion of the Winter Olympics. — Erath 16:09, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

If we used the English name for foreign stadiums, we would be calling Stade de France "Stadium of France", Stadio Delle Alpi "Alpine Stadium" and Camp Nou "New Field". Erath 09:19, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I found the following sentence in the Italian Wikipedia article about the Stadium: Al termine delle Paralimpiadi lo stadio sarà intitolato al Grande Torino. I believe this translates to: At the conclusion of the Paralympic Games the stadium will be renamed to Grande Torino. Well, the Paralympics started on March 10 and were over on March 19 2006: 2006 Winter Paralympics. -- Mareklug talk 06:50, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Improve Translation vs. Rewrite

[edit]

I've noticed that this page has been tagged with two competing interests: one suggests a complete rewrite, while the other calls for improving the translation from the original Italian. While the first is beyond the scope of my powers, I'm interested in doing the second; before that happens, however, I'd like to get some opinions on what this article really needs. Does anyone feel strongly one way or the other about what is necessary? weriov (talk) 13:04, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
