Untitled[edit]

It seems like this guy is just a "high school" level rugby player, pardon my Americanized words. As such, it doesn't meet the notability requirements of a Wikipedia biography. I'm a bit interested in the fact that you've contributed to a lot of rugby pages, so maybe you can upgrade this article to meet the notability requirements pretty easily :). But right now it just doesn't seem that way to me. Jonemerson 10:52, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He is a professional player who is in the first team squad of the winner of the BBC Sports Team of year for 2006

The BBC has a sports team? By the way, a search for "Steve Bannister" on Google shows no links referring to the rugby player, so I continue to believe this article does not meet the notability requirements for a biography. Jonemerson 22:19, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A Google search for '"Steve Bannister" "rugby league" ' does produce results for him. Perhaps this was not the case at the of searching, but it is now. Stevendavy 17 Dec 06
The BBC awards a prize for the best sports team in the United Kingdom, in any sport, as voted for my the UK public. This is then televised on national TV and has the biggest audience when broadcast. St Helens won the award and he is part of the team. It is not clear cut, but I would suggest he does just make the grade. He is certainly above high school level as he has (please excuse my attempt at Americanized lingo) been drafted into the top rugby team in the country. It has only just happened though, I imagine he will have a much higher profile in a year or two. stevendavy

Fair use rationale for Image:Bannister.jpg[edit]

Image:Bannister.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
