F. S. Chandler and the need for citations to independent reliable sources
[edit]Amazon and some other booksellers seem to list her as "F. S. Chandler". What does the "F." stand for? Is "Sue" short for "Susan"? In a quick web search, I could not find anything other than bookseller sites. The article does not cite any independent reliable sources, and the one cited self-published article doesn't seem to address this question. The lack of citations to independent reliable sources is also, rather obviously, a problem in itself. —BarrelProof (talk) 17:56, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
- "F." I don't know - "Sue" is short for "Suzanne". Have added another ref - from the OUP site with a picture and the claim she has sold 5 million books - which is a lot... can't find much more but will have a look. The ref from the The Mathematical Gazette is nice and describes her and Linda Bostock as the mysterious Bostock and Chandler team and addresses the issue that brought me to write the little stubs - prejudice about women and mathematics.
