Legacy Contreversy[edit]

For starters, none of the information in this section really has anything to do with a 'legacy' i.e the games impact on the series/industry/world etc... many articles on wikipedia have a 'legacy' section but it helps to understand what the word means.

It might be better to mention the new elements (Shine Sprites etc) in passing, during the main description of the game, and if there needs to be a legacy section, perhaps state the significant changes to the series as a whole, such as the significance of FLUDD (necessary for almost the entire game, for the first time Mario has to rely heavily on what may be viewed as an item or a partner, and the significance of that in relation to other games that have a similar scheme such as Banjo Kazzoie or Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 05:08, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Please understand that it is only possible for a Wikipedia article to include what is found in reliable sources. If I decided to write in my pwn content explaining the similarities between Super Mario Sunshine and Banjo-Kazooie, that would be original research. Have you been able to find a source online that discusses these similarities? :) Salvidrim!  05:19, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

This is the first Mario game where Princess Peach wears her hair in a ponytail which would be used in future Mario Kart games and the future Mario Sports games from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour onward.

I'm not sure if it is worth including on here or on her article.

  • Not done To be honest this sort of information seems too trivial to be included on Wikipedia. Even if it was noteworthy, a reliable source is needed to back up the claim. --The1337gamer (talk) 18:55, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
    • It is shown in the actual game and no other Mario game beforehand has ever depicted her with her hair in a ponytail before this game.-- (talk) 19:06, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
