Seeing as this has already grown big enough to be on its own, I just transplanted a bunch of content from Super Street Fighter IV and tried to make it into an article. Everyone's contributions are welcome. --uKER (talk) 18:06, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Version 2014

[edit]

I honestly don't believe this really needs it's own section. For all intents and purposes, it's the same game, just with a different group providing online services and a few aesthetic changes to the PC version only. Not really enough content to warrant it's own section. Thoughts, Eduemoni? TheStickMan[✆Talk] 19:53, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Version 2012 comprised nothing but a bunches of balancing, this version instead feature a major overhaul in its system, the multiplayer and how it works now, if it doesn't deserve its own section, so doesn't version 2012. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 21:15, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Version 2012's changes affected gameplay in a major way. Waving it off as simply "bunches of balancing" seems inappropriate to me. Version 2014 doesn't overhaul any sort of gameplay system. As I said, all it does it change from GFWL to Steam for online play and several aesthetic changes. Hardly comparable. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 21:31, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yet again, changing its underlying system results in gameplay changes, and from a pragmatically side changing from one service to the other is nothing simple, players are currently suffering lags, and how hard was to do it. I think you are underestimating this update. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 02:29, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
When I talk about "changing gameplay", I mean that for all intents and purposes, "Version 2014" is really just the PC version of Version 2012 that changes the services from GFWL to Steam. In other words, it's pretty much the same game. I don't see how you count the resulting unintentional lag and the switching of services as "gameplay changes" (assuming that's what you mean). Lag does not change gameplay, but hinders it. Meanwhile, using Steam instead of GFWL doesn't change the game itself, as I've said already.
Something that I've recently begun to worry about is that people will confuse it for actually being a different version of the game since it's under its own header. Whether or not there is enough content to warrant its own section aside, I'd say that having a "Version 2014" section header is misleading. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 12:49, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Patches are different per se, it bring fixes, supporting data or improvements, you are stating this from a POV, it must be general, wikipedia should not restrict its view for players or devs, but for everyone else and you are clearly pointing out to the gamer point of view, the game ain't different it is the same street fighter, as it was before 2012 version, but it went through an update, and so far there were only two major updates like that, its section should withstand. Hm, I suppose you have a point there. I'll just make a few more minor edits and leave it at that, then. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:30, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
