once there was "bocho" then "hocho", but the correct pronunciation of the kanji according to http://www.j-talk.com/nihongo/ is actually houchou (often in english"hōchō") which i believe should be perceived upon as the uttermost correct one.

- I think the question is not how it is pronounced, but how it is written. I would have to check, but I believe we're using the hepburn system. A quick check also indicates more usage of bocho than of houchou. Hence I think bocho is right.
