Merging mall lists[edit]

This is the first time I've ever participated in a "merge" discussion, so I'm not sure of exactly how this is supposed to go, but... I've always thought that a list of Taubman Center malls was out of place in an article about Alfred Taubman. And now that a list of malls has been added to the Taubman Center article, I think that it should be removed from Mr. Taubman's article. (There is, of course, a link to the Taubman Centers article in the Alfred Taubman article.) I'll be happy to make sure that the mall list in the Taubman Centers article is accurate and complete before I remove the list from Mr. Taubman's article -- and if nobody objects in the next few weeks, that's what I'll do. I don't really think this will be controversial. I'd give it about three days and if nobody objects, go ahead and do the merge... if somebody else doesn't beat you to it! As for me, I have no objection, they're obviously redundant and the corporate page is the better place for it to be. —Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 08:12, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've edited the Mall list so that it matches the list on the official Taubman site -- and I'm about to go remove the list from the article about Mr. Taubman. HMishkoff 03:22, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent work, my friend! You might want to remember to leave an edit summary, though, especially when deleting large chunks from an article. Other editors may not realize what's going on and revert you. Thanks for your hard work! —Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 03:27, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oyster Bay[edit]

I changed the status of Oyster Bay from "2008" to "proposed" as it seems that the future of the mall is not at all assured, see http://www.NoMallHere.com/ for info about the battle over the mall. HMishkoff 16:47, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Someone removed the "proposed" parenthetical after Oyster Bay, I returned it. I don't know why it was removed or who removed it, no comments were included to explain the deletion. The mall was announced seven years ago, but the development is tied up in court. According to a New York Times article from two weeks ago (http://nomallhere.com/articles/May1307NYTimes.htm), there is no end to the legal battle in sight. According to the article, Taubman "still doesn't have approval to build," which is why I think a status of "proposed" is appropriate. If someone doesn't agree, let's discuss. checkYI've added the citation to the article for you. —Elipongo (Talk|contribs) 02:33, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for not pointing out that I should have done that myself... :) I'll try to be more aware of citing references in the future, thanks for picking up the slack this time. HMishkoff 03:01, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

City Creek Center?[edit]

I'm thinking of removing this. From what I've read, Taubman is the leasing agent, but not the owner. I've looked through as much material as I could find, and I couldn't find anything that said that Taubman was going to be managing the property once it's developed. City Creek is a huge mixed-use project, and it appears that Taubman's only involvement will be to design and lease the retail space. (I'm not trying to downplay Taubman's involvement, I'm just pointing out that City Creek may not belong in a list of properties owned or managed by Taubman.) And the final nail in the coffin is that City Creek is not only absent from the list of properties on the Taubman website, it doesn't appear to be mentioned in the site at all. Any comments? HMishkoff (talk) 03:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since there were no objections (or even comments), I've gone ahead and removed it. HMishkoff (talk) 22:52, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Charleston Place?[edit]

I noticed that Charleston Place is no longer on the list at the Taubman site, so I commented it out of the list in the article. Does anyone know if Charleston Place is still a Taubman property? The site layout seems new -- could they have missed a link to one of their properties? HMishkoff (talk) 22:26, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mall at Studio City[edit]

I removed the reference to The Mall at Studio City because Taubman is no longer involved, according to this:
