Remove "one source" note?

[edit]

This is my first Wikipedia editing job, so hope I did a good one! I added a couple extra references, added a bit more history, and cleaned up the narrative. I also removed the "stub" designation. Perhaps we can remove the "one source" designation now as well? JohnLaRusic (talk) 18:45, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I started this page because The Bicycles have become a very important Toronto area band, whose members not only play in many other groups, but also support the growing music community. The band deserves an article in the same way that similar Toronto bands such as The Meligrove Band, Forest City Lovers, The Old Soul and many other associated acts have pages on Wikipedia. I've just added more content to the article, hopefully that should satisfy whoever believes this needs deletion. If not please let me know. (sleepwalk (talk) 00:23, 10 November 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Please see the criteria for a notable band. In summary: "A musician or ensemble is notable if it has had some sort of recognition by professional organizations, such as music charts. Notability is met if the musician has been the subject of a broadcast by a media network.".
They were mentioned in Spin Magazine, Feb 2008, pg. 103 (see http://digital.spin.com/spin/200802/?u1=texterity) under the "City Guide" section on Toronto. Maybe this could be worked into the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.89.219.19 (talk) 17:36, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If these criteria are met, please demonstrate that through a reference. Be aware that the existence of articles on other bands is not considered a sufficient argument for a new page. Thanks, TrulyBlue (talk) 09:06, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
