Chief Superintendent Matthew Lawson

[edit]

With a staff of four coppers, he runs a large district. That needs a Chief Super? Where are the superintendents and inspectors that you'd expect a chief to have at his disposal? 78.147.62.12 (talk) 21:16, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

episode length

[edit]

The episodes vary in length, just under an hour long.

As broadcast in the US in the first half of 2015, PBS GBH generally prefers to run no more than 55min of original show contents in an hour slot, allowing for a little blurbing at the start and plenty of blurbing at the end; they often edit down the contents to enable this. But they seem to be running the entire original contents of Doctor Blake, which is sometimes a tight squeeze. They are running just a little blurbage at the start, no more than a minute; then 55 to 58 minutes of core contents, then 15 seconds of BBC Shop ad, then a minute of credits ending in a quick series of original sponsor credits. Thus the grand total of original contents is about 56 to 59 minutes, for episodes 101 to 108.

  • GBH 2015 broadcast series 1 core contents length:
101 55min, 102 58min, 103 57min, 104 57min, 105 55min, 106 56min, 107 56min, 108 55min

The US Region 1 BBC DVD program contents seem identical to what was broadcast on PBS, same length. The credits on the end of the DVD episodes are very short. The DVD cover says 574min for ten episodes of Season One, for an average of 57-1/2 min. No bonus extras are included.-71.174.183.90 (talk) 16:23, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Petition drive

[edit]

The petitions to renew the show are not notable, and not important enough to include in the article. This is an encyclopedia, not a fan site; these petitions are common after a show is cancelled, and are about the fans who can't accept the show is over, not the show itself. Mention of the petition, much less a running total of signatures, is irrelevant to the show and is fancruft. --Drmargi (talk) 17:39, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, I have also removed the other mention of the petition. MilborneOne (talk) 18:09, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Broadcast

[edit]

Does Netflix count as broadcast? The first three seasons are available there currently. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.73.12.116 (talk) 13:59, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If it can be reliably sourced then yes -- Whats new?(talk) 21:47, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A US Car Buff's Dream

[edit]
It should be noted that many auto fanciers in the US enjoyed watching this show partly for the Australian versions of vintage US autos either featured as being driven in a scene or in the background. Ford, Studebaker, Pontiac, Chrysler, Dodge and Chevrolet were among the makes spotted in this show.2600:1700:7F11:6420:0:0:0:44 (talk) 05:24, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
