Lion and Panther.
[edit]Krylov has a fable about a similar dispute, but dealing with the peace negotiations instead of vultures. Not sure if there is a direct connection. Omeganian (talk) 12:39, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- Krylov's story seems to me to make a radically different point. In Aesop's, the moral is about uninvolved bystanders who profit from a quarrel. But in Krylov's case the combattants agree that others may settle the dispute on their behalf (which happens in no other version), though the lion is cautious of the mediator recommended to him by his enemy.
