Re-launching
[edit]"They have also helped re-launch the careers of Snoop Dogg, ODB, Robin Thicke and Mystikal." It's wrong to say they helped re-launch the careers of these artists, particularly snoop dogg. When has Snoop's career ever needed re-launching?
I felt the same thing when i read that. Portillo 05:57, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
I straight up removed ODB from that, because, c'mon... that was his sophomore album. Snoop Dogg I question too, because he's always been a big success, but his career is long and I don't follow it, so for all I know he was in a slump. I doubt that at the height of the Wu ODB could be considered re-launched by the Neptunes. If anything ODB helped launch the Neptunes. Come on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dsmccohen (talk • contribs) 10:42, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Production Discography
[edit]As Pharrell and NERD have their own prospective sites I thought that this page should contain their production discography. My inspiration was from the Scott Storch page. Would it be possible for someone to format it into a similar style?
- thanks for noticing my link to the production techniques and adding in that information, but i am of the strong opinion that maintaining a list which is meerly a copy of an official list is pointless; it adds massive bloat to the page and is always going to be less up to date than the linked, official, version. If you really must keep a wikified copy of the discography, then please add it to a new 'neptunes discograpy' or production credits page. i am therefore deleting it but it is of course available on 'older versions' of the page if u wish to do this.Bungalowbill 17:05, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- OK, i decided to create a separate Neptunes discography page, and do it chronologically, but could someone please help.. its a bit much for one person..
- haha, that production technique section was my idea and entirely my work. good job at trying to take credit for my work! but bad luck! i noticed! - soladee
Reworked page
[edit]Considering how big these produces (in popularity not stature) I thought that they deserved a more respectable page. I hope you like what I did. No doubt there will be plenty of spelling errors, and maybe even factual errors.
Connection between the Neptunes & the Matrix
[edit]Could someone tell me what their connection to the Matrix is? Chsf 10:55, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
- I thought i knew everytjing about the neptunes but it appears there;s still a lot to find about them :)
- i don't think they have any direct connection to the songwriting team the Matrix; but the matrix are major pop writers, so I'm sure they've collaborated with the Neptunes at least once.
Changed prince link
[edit]The link went to prince, not prince_(aritst) Link updated.
Name
[edit](1) I was under the impression the name "the neptunes" comes from the fictionsl band the neptunes that apeared on the TV show The Jetsons. If someone could clarify the origin of the name that would be great.
(2) There is another music group call "Neptune" from Boston. See:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neptune_%28band%29
Should there be a disambiguation notice on each group's entry?
Oops I did it again vs. Slim shady remix
[edit]I once saw a remix on television of Oops I did it again vs. Slim shady, and no it isn't the one were you can only here eminems part, it was a remix by the neptunes and it you could here britney sing and eminem rap, I never found it again, can somebody help me if they ever heard of this?
- The Neptunes have never had anything to do with such a remix, nor any other 'vs' mashup..
Citations?
[edit]I don't understand how you can cite the first paragraph. And the Solo Production paragraph is already cited, so why is the tag for citation needed still there? 68.8.104.62 (talk) 04:56, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Neptunes?
[edit]Are they still alive? They have no airplay anymore. --141.51.23.234 (talk) 15:11, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
