Crossover Episode

[edit]

How are we going to deal with The Ready Room's 44th episode which is a crossover for Discovery Season 4's premiere episode and Prodigy's 5th episode. Sonequa Martin-Green is interviewed for the Discovery half and Kate Mulgrew is interviewed for the Prodigy half. As this show's wikipedia is currently set up: there are no individual seasons of The Ready Room; it's broken up by show. So how should we add this crossover episode? I was going to add one episode to each set (1 for Discovery's Season 4 section and 1 for Prodigy's Season 1 section) and then set the overall counter to label both episodes as episode 44. But I don't know how to do that. If anyone can, please do so. I suggest the "add 2 episodes but label them both as #44" method is the best way of going about it. But if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears. If you agree with my assessment, then either explain how to do it to me and I will do it or take it upon yourself to complete it. Either way is alright by me. Daxri (talk) 08:36, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not home to make any significant edits right now (via laptop vice phone). I'm leaning toward having it in both sections, labeling both as 44, and including some notice in each about which half applies. —ADavidB 16:34, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you; I thought so too. I just don't know how to do it. Make the edits whenever you can. I thank you for your help! Daxri (talk) 19:04, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I added the new episode info to the article. While I intended to list it under both sections due to the second guest's discussion of the other series, I couldn't settle on a way to do so without introducing likely confusion. As a result, it's only in the new Discovery season 4 section (which is the primary focus of the episode). Seemingly confirming this choice, Paramount+ does not list this Ready Room episode among their Prodigy 'extras', only with those for Discovery . —ADavidB 03:39, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That's rather disappointing, because in my mind its clearly a crossover episode. But I understand that if Paramount Plus lists it that way, then we should too. Thanks for help, nonetheless! Daxri (talk) 05:58, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Episodes Discussed" space misused for Specials

[edit]

The "Episodes Discussed" space is easy when The Ready Room only discusses 1 or even 2 episodes. But When the animated shows have Specials, they can cover up to 5 episodes. Instead we've out "Premiere Special" etc., when according to our own formatting it should have the name of the episode(s) discussed in that space. Let's use the Lower Decks first season as an example. If we wanted to be consistent with our own formatting Lower Decks Season 1 would NOT be:

1. "Premiere Special"

2. "Midseason Special"

3. "Finale Special"

Instead it would be:

1. "Second Contact"

2. "Envoys" and "Temporal Edict" and "Moist Vessel" and "Cupid's Errant Arrow" and "Terminal Provocations"

3. "Much Ado About Boimler" and "Veritas" and "Crisis Point" and "No Small Parts"

I know it looks really clunky but it would be consistent with our own formatting. So should we change it or does it make more sense use the "Special" titles? Daxri (talk) 20:04, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's why the column heading says "Title" instead of "Episode(s) discussed" for the specials, since we aren't actually listing the episodes that were discussed. - adamstom97 (talk) 20:07, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
