But the past ain't through with you Lyrical Reference

[edit]

i was just wondering if there should be anything about the title of this comic referencing lyrics from the My Chemical Romance song Kill All Your Friends, seeing as Gerard sings that line in the song. if there should be could someone please add it. I wouldn't know where to put it in the summary of the comic. The lyrics to the song can be seen here http://www.plyrics.com/lyrics/mychemicalromance/killallyourfriends.html The lyrics i'm talking about are in the fourth line down —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.179.139.78 (talkcontribs) 02:40, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't notice that, but you are right. I'll add it into the article. – Zntrip 04:50, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

that looks good. thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.179.146.214 (talkcontribs) 22:00, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New Pages

[edit]

I think the issues/short stories plot details are taking up a lot of room so I'm going to make an The Umbrella Academy (Apocolypse Suite) page and a The Umbrella Academy (Short Stories) page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boggon1993 (talkcontribs) 11:15, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article is really not that long and I think it would be easier for all the information to stay on one page, if at some future time the article reaches “critical mass” I would support moving plot information to a separate page. But for now, I think it is best to just have one article. – Zntrip 17:40, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Things have only really just got started. If the entry gets too large then that is usually a sign it should be trimmed down. Just splitting off entries on individual story arcs could violate WP:PLOT and WP:FICT - plot should be kept trimmed down (overly long plot can be a copyright violation) and real world impact focused on. (Emperor 22:09, 22 September 2007 (UTC))[reply]
In that case, I suggest that a seperate page for the Apocolypse Suite is created when the arc is finished which can give room for a more detailed plot, I also think that having seperate seperate pages for characters would be good e.g.Template:Hellboy —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boggon2k7 (talkcontribs) 15:12, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Formal Tone

[edit]

This entire article sounds like it was written by someone who is more into the plot than a real, informative article. I have cleared up the article up past the summary for the second issue, but there's still a lot that needs to be done. There's a whole litany of run-on sentences. there are also some parts that someone else will have to edit- since I haven't actually read the comic, there's only so much I can do. Number Five

[edit]

The article refers to Number Five (00.05) as The Future yet I don't believe I've seen this code name anywhere in the issues. Can this please be confirmed?--RedKnight (talk) 13:47, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see the text has been updated. Thank you--RedKnight (talk) 23:31, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Umbrella Academy film

[edit]

Not sure how this could fit into the article, but here is an interesting story about Dark Horse and Universal's deal for movie rights. Any way we could finagle this info in? Umbrella Academy heading to big screen? Jeffrywith1e (talk) 22:01, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Comics B-Class Assesment required

[edit]

This article needs the B-Class checklist filled in to remain a B-Class article for the Comics WikiProject. If the checklist is not filled in by 7th August this article will be re-assessed as C-Class. The checklist should be filled out referencing the guidance given at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria. For further details please contact the Comics WikiProject. Comics-awb (talk) 17:46, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. It needs a lot more references and it is heavily in-universe (so needs more on the background as well as a reception section. Could probably do with a less blow-by-blow plot summary too). (Emperor (talk) 23:01, 21 October 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Compressing the plot

[edit]

I tried to compress the plot of the main series, as it was too long and had too much original research. I passed on two of the shorter bits. I had not read one and the 'sawed in half' one just messed with head too much, as a story, I didn't know how to reliably compress it. Lots42 (talk) 19:58, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Jungle

[edit]

Can someone who has read 'The Jungle' rewrite it? As it stands now, it makes little sense. Lots42 (talk) 19:54, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Saw the changes, opinion stands. Lots42 (talk) 02:16, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Umbrella Academy: Series 3

At the San Diego Comic Con 09, Way talked about the third series of Umbrella Academy, called " Hotel Oblivion". http://www.newsarama.com/comics/070925-sdcc-darkhorsepanel.html

I'm Just Wondering

[edit]

Why is this article under Diablo Cody's name? I don't see her name mentioned in the article. Just misinformed, please enlighten me. 95.208.70.218 (talk) 19:34, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Art and Numbers

[edit]

What's with 00.01 Spaceboy and so on; is 00.01 part of the naming convention of the novel? And shouldn't there be more about the art of these graphic novels and less about the plots? Nitpyck (talk) 17:49, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Emo?

[edit]

Excuse me, what does The Umbrella Academy has to do with "Emo"? It's a comic book, for God's sakes, it doesn't have absolutely nothing to do with Emo, not the fashion, not the music, nothing. The fact that most of it's fans are Emo is because most peoplee know Gerard from My Chemical Romance, but it doesn't have anything to do in the Emo field. I'm not disregarding anything, not saying whats bad or good, but Emo has nothing to do in here. So, Kurt Cobain wrote drawings and little comic strips, does those comics have anything to do with Grunge? Are they "Grunge comics"? No, I don't think so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.75.77.35 (talk) 02:33, 31 March 2010 (UTC) Klus is kinda emo! He wears lots of black and is just Klus in season 2 he is does not wear black a much but still.[reply]

Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion release date

[edit]

Here is a trailer for hotel oblivion stating a release date some time during 2010 http://www.darkhorse.com/Features/Trailers/1100/Umbrella-Academy-Hotel-Oblivion-Trailer. Thought this should be added to the hotel oblivion section of the article, but not sure how to add a reference to it or anything... 88.111.151.73 (talk) 21:11, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Contradictions in section

[edit]

The Characters section contradicts the List of The Umbrella Academy characters insofar as numbers-as-names appear prominently in the main article covering this section's topic, but no numbers appear in this section at all. In addition, there is an issue with self-consistency in the article. Descriptions of main characters appearing in the Characters section have already been described to some extent in the Plot summary. These descriptions need to come from sources in this section, and need to be fully consistent with descriptions appearing earlier. For instance, in this regard, the adoption of the children is described in the plot summary, but their "purchase" is described here. Earlier, those adopted are described as the ones "surviving", where no mention or clarification of others of the 43 dying are presented in either place. (So did only 7 survive, or more? Were they purchased, or adopted, or both?) Encyclopedic writing is clear, and self-consistent (within articles), and should be consistent between them as well. 204.62.118.241 (talk) 23:46, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
