1979 RCA Records Version?[edit]

This article doesn't take into account earlier versions of "The Young Messiah".

Perhaps there were other popular recordings of this work that I don't know about, but it seems to be blatant advertising for this album. A reference to the history of the earlier project should be necessary. Francis Hannaway 19:01, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

I agree with the edit above. To my knowlegde, this performance is only known under the Messiah XXI name, and the Young Messiah is Tom Parker's adaptation. Pe1pbu (talk) 07:49, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My conclusion is that the article in its present form is fraudulent and therefore unacceptable for the Wikipedia. The "Young Messiah" as a musical project of the New London Chorale and Tom Parker is widely, internationally, known and is 20 years older. --Paulbe (talk) 23:19, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(Wow, that was a very quick response, Meatsgains!) Some kind of merger might be a could idea. I am willing to help. Anyway, still it is my opinion that if nothing can be changed, it is better to delete this lemma. --Paulbe (talk) 23:36, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Contemporary Christian Music Version (199x)[edit]

The I don't have the details (recording date, artists involved with the recording, etc.) with me, but can update later. In the 1990s another version of The Young Messiah was released in the Christian Music market, and featured a number of big name Christian artists including First Call and Phil Driscoll. A couple of years later, there was a concert tour including one show in the Chicago suburbs (Rosemont, IL) that was broadcast live as a pay-per-view special.
