In the absence of any more relevant Google-provided info, i inferred (from his war record) that he must have been born by the (early) 1890s, and (from ~~on of~~ the Croydon sport-tables) that he lived long enuf to have played in 1924, in each case as we are told by some colleague('s/s') prior contrib(s) to the article.
