[edit]We must always report the truth and be neutral in Wikipedia. The warning in the article says "this article is about the convicted rapist". We are calling him a convict and a rapist. It seems that the later (rapist) may not be true. So we should not take sides with the prosecutor and call him a rapist especially since there is doubt that he did the crime.
I've changed to "this article is about a man imprisoned for rape". An alternate would be "this article is about a man convicted of rape". This is not the same thing as calling him a rapist. Let's be kind and accurate. Chergles (talk) 16:18, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- I do not disagree with your change. However, until such time that his conviction is overturned, he is legally a convicted rapist. Being convicted for something is not always the same as being guilty of it. Likewise, being acquitted for something does not always mean the person is indeed innocent. We have to be careful about saying "wrongly accused" as well since that has not been legally established. The current wording is a good compromise. →Wordbuilder (talk) 16:33, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
