Does this person really deserve a wiki page?

- I believe the subject of this article meets criterion 6 of Wikipedia:Notability (academics) as the appointed department chair of the University of New Mexico Department of Naval Science. I further believe receipt of multiple awards of his nation's second highest military decoration, the Navy Cross, constitutes separate notability for military achievement. The combat actions for which these decoration were made are widely recognized as pivotal events in the Pacific theater of the second world war. Thewellman (talk) 16:38, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
I confess that I do not as he is not a high enough in academic life to quality for criterion 6, multiple awards of his nation's second highest military decoration are hardly enough and the events themselves his role in them was not notibile.
