Merge to Sparkling wine production?

[edit]

It has been suggested that Traditional method be merged into Sparkling wine production. I think it is a bad idea. There is so much text about the traditional method that it completely overshadows the other six methods, and gives the impression that the traditional method (and champagne in particular) is the only important one. That is not the case, in fact it is commonly estimated that merely 15 % of the world production is champagne. With the finer points of the traditional method now in a separate article it is far easier to appreciate the differences between the metods in the Sparkling wine production article. --Klättermusen (talk) 12:40, 17 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

History of the content of this page

[edit]

When creating this page I copied a fair deal of content from Sparkling wine production; see that page's history for attribution. I basically split the Sparkling wine production article in half to create Traditional method, then added some new content and rearranged it to make the content more coherent. I was not aware that Wikipedia requires that this must be made very clear up-front. Mea culpa! --Klättermusen (talk) 05:48, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
