Split?

[edit]

Why is this one single article if it already in the lead needs to enumerate two cases, apparently separate?

What are the reason for this split? That is, as a layman, I have zero understanding of why first nations governments in Canada are bundled together with band associations of the US, on one hand, but US governments make up a second separate thing. Why is this distinction even made? It's not mentioned further on the page.

I came here for an overview of how the Tribal Council of the Cheyenne would work after watching Longmire. I'm not even sure this article covers that subject. We can safely assume this article does not meet the "a layman can understand it" criteria of Wikipedia. CapnZapp (talk) 20:59, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I've split it. —Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 21:56, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Move entirely

[edit]

Canadian First Nation peoples aren't remotely the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for this idea, which covers versions—some far more historically important—at least as far back as the tribal councils organized under Germanic law that divied up the Roman Empire and created medieval Europe. — LlywelynII 09:43, 4 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
