Article title

[edit]

@KingSkyLord: - the current title is highly unusual. Score is almost never the correct disambiguator to be used for a match. You mentioned in earlier moves that the US & Trinidad played each other at another time during the qualifications, but that game doesn't have an article, correct? So there's no disambiguation needed. The article should just be moved back to Trinidad and Tobago v. United States (2018 FIFA World Cup qualification) per standard disambiguation, with a hatnote for this other match if you really feel it's necessary. Alternatively, use some form of disambiguation that isn't the score - Trinidad and Tobago v. United States soccer match (October 10, 2017) or the like. Thoughts? • I think the title is fine as is. It isn't the only match that ended 2–1 for Trinidad, but it also isn't the only 2018 World Cup qualification match played between Trinidad and the USA. I think it's the best compromise we have right now as it's not too ambiguous but also not too specific. Also, we traditionally don't use "v.", we use "v", and even if we did move back, it could misinterpreted different ways. KingSkyLord (talk | contribs) 00:57, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Trinidad and Tobago 2–1 United States (2018 FIFA World Cup qualification)Trinidad and Tobago v United States (2018 FIFA World Cup qualification) – Remove unneeded score disambiguator, which is highly disfavored anyway. I'd move this as uncontroversial but it's been moved back to the current title twice, so maybe a full discussion is warranted. The argument for including a disambiguator seems to be that there was another match between these teams, but that not particularly notable match doesn't have its own Wikipedia article, so it's no disambiguation issue, and can easily be addressed with a hatnote anyway to 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification – CONCACAF Fifth Round#Matches.
