Tyler Yarema is a renouned Canadian musician who has links on many other musician pages on wiki. In addition to the awards listed, Tyler also received a Juno award for an album entitled Strike that was led by the late Doug Riley Saralarah13 (talk) 21:54, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Grrrrreat... so why is this here? Seriously, if this person is so notable, I should be able to find something about him. These awards I've never heard of, they would do much better on the actual page. Just saying. By the way, what's your interest in the article?

Listen, the Canadian musical landscape is important. The Maple Blues Awards are hosted by the Toronto Blues Society which is recognized nationally as a creditable organization that promotes Canada's best players: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Canadian_blues_societies

I am having trouble finding a backup source for the Juno that Tyler won, but in case you are not aware, Junos are Canada's version of Grammys. I don't know if Wiki supports references that are not online, but in a worse case scenario, I would be willing to go to the library and find the articles that are not online and source them the way we did pre-internet. I know that there are many articles that have been published, but they were before this kind of a venue existed online.

The reason why very few artists in Canada get international exposure is 3 fold: 1. There are fewer very weathly individuals that are looking to promote and support the creative class. 2. Population density is weaker, meaning that corporations are less likely to pick up on artists and try to sell them back to the public because profits will be weaker. 3. Canadians don't get as star struck as Americans do. Any Canadian artist will tell you that. We're just generally unaffected by superficial nonsense. Having said that, I know that this individual has played a major role in Canadian music and individuals such as myself are trying to promote those which absolutely deserve a bigger spotlight.

My investment is that I am very proud of the talent that Canada offers. Beyond the notion that Tyler is good for a Canadian, the particular style of music that he creates is original on an international spectrum and it's important that we don't let this go unnoticed. This isn't some guy I went to highschool with - if you're a blues or jazz musician in Toronto, you've played with or heard of Tyler Yarema. I can do more homework, but I know that this page deserves to be up.

Addtionally, you can find Tyler's music, both performed and records produced on iTunes. I know that everyone can do that but, I'm just trying to make the point that this isn't some garage band.

The Canadian music scene is so under-recognized and under-rated - some of us are trying to change that. Please make this page available. I have posted the reference sites and I will do more leg work if necessary.

Last, Tyler is well-known and since it is a free encyclopedia, I highly suspect that others will contribute to make this page more complete. Many thanks for your consideration.

Regarding CSD A7 Nomination[edit]

I agree with the CSD nomination. A google search has determined that there is in fact a person named Tyler Yarema, however no reliable sources indicate importance. Keep in mind Twitter and MySpace are not reliable sources. Nezzadar (speak) 21:39, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
