...poses a great threat to Japan, a country already devastated by another typhoon just a few weeks ago.

Lets be realistic here - Japan was not "devastated" by Typhoon Talas - it got wet. Some areas had larger problems. Choose your transitive verbs with greater care, hmmm? 116.80.220.204 (talk) 03:33, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know, Talas did cause a shit ton of damage and a buttload of deaths. Not to mention that due to the rain, there was more liquid across Japan than there is beer across Ireland on St. Patrick's day. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:44, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Partly agreed, but Talas killed 50 and disappeared another 50. That's 2 city buses worth, or 0.5% of the March earthquake. Talas did not, by any standard of measurement, devastate the country - or I wouldn't be complaining about the writing from my apartment in Tokyo. 116.80.220.204 (talk) 04:22, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Talas blew away a whole bridge. It dropped record rainfall. Caused extreme flooding. Damage exceeded $600 million. Towns turned to lakes. Dont you call it devastation?? --Anirudh Emani (talk) 08:44, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not across the entire country, which is how the paragraph was originally worded.116.80.220.204 (talk) 09:00, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wide areas of the nation were brushed by the typhoon. Not just some parts. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 11:48, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, wide areas were brushed by the typhoon. Only a few places received anything approaching major damage. In other news, Roke is causing some flooding around Nagoya and Hyogo (watching the daily highlights on the news now). 116.80.220.204 (talk) 14:08, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, i do find several news articles saying that some flooding has started. However, its too soon to start the impact section as Roke is still at-least a hundred miles away from the coastline. Also, consider making an account. Since your contributions to Wikipedia are very helpful. Thank you.--Anirudh Emani (talk) 15:45, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
