Uniform of UP
[edit]Please study carefully UP's dark-colored uniform which is not the same as the one illustrated in the article. I'm not yet familiar with the uniforms template of Wiki, so please correct the error. Thank you. Aeron Valderrama 10:35, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, we can add the white markings for the armpits, it is not supposed to be that accurate anyway, the minor details tend to be omitted. --Howard the Duck 10:41, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- See this discussion: Template talk:Football kit#The English national team. --Howard the Duck 10:43, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Other UAAP events
[edit]Aldrinv 09:11, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Is it possible to include other UAAP sports events? (aside from men's basketball) like before? (UAAP Season 69 page)
- Yes, of course. The other events HAVE NOT yet STARTED, thus NOTHING is placed YET on the article about them. Aeron Valderrama 09:48, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- We start removing details of the men's basketball events when the article reaches 32KB. --Howard the Duck 14:40, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
They've now been transferred to UAAP Season 70 basketball tournaments. Only the team standings and playoff brackets shall remain here. --Howard the Duck 12:46, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Change De La Salle, Ateneo, and Adamson
[edit]We need to be fair with other universities when it comes to their names. The university's names are abbreviated except with De La Salle, Ateneo and Adamson.
The Studio 23 coverage and UAAP itself have already been practicing fairness when it comes to addressing the varsity names.
De La Salle Green Archers SHOULD be refered to as DLSU Green Archers. Ateneo Blue Eagles SHOULD be refered to as ADMU Blue Eagles and Adamson Soaring Falcons SHOULD be refered to as AdU Soaring Falcons.
If the writer/s like these to be retained, they need to change the remaining teams' names and refered to with FULL Names of their schools (eg. Santo Tomas Growling Tigers or East Red Warriors).
- It's the most popular name that counts here. See a parallel article at 2006 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, where they use the most popular name, whether or not it is an acronym. Ergo, it's UCLA, not "California-Los Angeles" and Southern Illinois, not "SIU". --Howard the Duck 04:45, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Rivalry Games
[edit]What are the sources of the so-called rivalry games in this page? Please include UP-UST rivalry (started as Cheerdance rivals), UE-UST Rivalry (UST stole 2nd place from UE and made it to championship where they won the 69th season), and UST-ADMU Rivaly (Where UST, as the only team in season 69 to beat ADMU). These are the rivalries that need to be included in the Rivalry Games section of the page.
- The only rivalries that are valid, at least for the Men's tournament are the ones found at the main UAAP page, and for that sport only; ergo UP-UST won't be shown at the basketball section (or any other section for that matter) since it is a purely cheerdance rivalry, and unless there really is a rivalry on that specific sport and/or division. I don't know who made up the Juniors' and Women's rivalry but they all seem reasonable for me. --Howard the Duck 04:53, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- And UE beat Ateneo in the last game of the eliminations last year. --Howard the Duck 04:46, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Why do you even want to include UST in the rivalries list? Stop asking for more attention for your school. That is very irritating. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.106.151.160 (talk) 13:49, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Women's tournament
[edit]Please DO NOT edit the standings and the table before even the games begin. The fifth set of games had just been played today. Aeron Valderrama 07:31, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Terminologies
[edit]Ok, we have to be straight to the point and avoid other people second-guessing what the terms mean. For example, "Playoffs" and Playoff are two different things. Final Four may not be easily understood by everybody, but everyone can understand what a semifinal is. --Howard the Duck 15:31, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Introducing the new templates...
[edit]In order to make our lives a little bit easier, there are new templates we can use:
- {{RPFinalFourbracket}} - default Final 4 bracket
- {{RPFinalFourbracket-sweep}} - to be used when a team sweeps the elimination round
- {{RPFinalFourbracket-fourth}} - to be used when there is a playoff for the 4th seed
- {{RPFinalFourbracket-sweep-4th}} - to be used if a team sweeps the elimination round and if there is a playoff for the 4th seed (added 18:52, 26 August 2007 (UTC))
- {{UAAPteam}} - to automatically add the icon, names and appropriate links (you people may start
converting now, I'm too lazy). --Howard the Duck 14:32, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- I think we should also include a template were we can make medalists (e.g. in judo) like that of Olympics articles. And do you know how can we start a UAAP Wikiproject? :) Aeron Valderrama 12:04, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- Like {{flagIOCmedalist}}? This only works with the {{flag}} templates. I tried asking for permission from the creator of those templates if we can use it for the UAAP but he said it can be done but he'd rather won't, seeing a lot of other things will then use those flag templates w/c aren't supposed to be used that way. --Howard the Duck 14:46, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- So I think we have to settle for the {{UAAPteam}} templates and do it the "long way". Aeron Valderrama 04:32, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Source of UAAP Cheerdance Ranking
[edit]What is the source of cheerdance ranking and scores? this is not the same with the scores and ranking in the main page of UAAP Cheerdance Competition 63.240.121.48 10:35, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Lui Clemente
Overall Championship Race
[edit]I think it is advisable to make a breakdown of the points accumulated for the race, so that people visiting here will have a better picture of how the total is calculated, and also see in which events this school is performing well and likwise indicate in which some are not participating? Aeron Valderrama 12:41, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
UAAP Wikiproject
[edit]Do you know how can we start a UAAP Wikiproject? So we can "standardize" templates, article format, etc. and find better ways to improve the credibility of our articles. Aeron Valderrama 04:35, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals. Suggest to include the NCAA and other college leagues too, since they're all of the same color and could use the same templates. --Howard the Duck 05:02, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Spikers/Paddlers etc.
[edit]I'd recommend using the generic "Growling Tigers" or "Blue Eaglets" or "Pages" for all teams; the "green and gold paddlers" and "red skirts" confuse me and perhaps others who're unfamiliar to the subject. --Howard the Duck 10:06, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- I removed all of them and used the standardized UAAP templates. --Howard the Duck 15:23, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Color key
[edit]I'm planning to change the color key for all UAAP and NCAA season articles. The new color key will be:
Clinched bye up to the Finals
Clinched twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals
Clinched semifinals berth
Clinched knockout game berth
Eliminated - to be used only when the elimination round is ongoing |
This will prevent the use of asterisks and using just one color on most cases (the top 4 are all colored green) for playoff qualifiers. --Howard the Duck 08:00, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Do not remove {{current sport}} yet...
[edit]Volleyball playoffs are ongoing and perhaps several other sports are winding up their seasons so there'll be a lot of changes starting last week. By February ends the events are over so the template can be removed. --Howard the Duck 16:18, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
