[edit]I wanted to create a page for all the USB or office toys which seem to have become an everyday part of office life.The products were supplied by the guys at [Home gadgets].There is a link to wiki commons where we can collect images of these toys. The article is fairly spartan at the moment but hope to beef it up over the next few weeks. Any help would be appreciated.

Fair use rationale for Image:Usbmissilelauncher.png

Image:Usbmissilelauncher.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Violating USB spec
[edit]Many of these devices violate USB specifications, in that they immediately attempt to draw the maximum power - a device is supposed to start by drawing not more than 100 mA and then "request" an increase from the host. I don't have a source for this right now, but if one can be found it should be added. M0ffx (talk) 12:53, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Merge from USB decoration
[edit]The other article is somewhat stronger than the stub here, but the title USB toy seems more descriptive and more recognizable. There seems to be little reason to maintain the distinction and two separate articles. In terms of Google hits:
- "USB toy": 144,000
- "USB decoration": 5,980
- "USB gadget": 441,000 (but this includes "Linux-USB Gadget API Framework", an unrelated topic)
- "USB gadget" -driver -kernel -linux -api : 435,000
"USB gadget" is a possible name, but would have to be disambiguated from the software operating system driver meaning of the term. Reify-tech (talk) 14:39, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
