Vasilisa (name) → Vasilisa – There are no other meanings. Staszek Lem (talk) 21:29, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

Support. Probably could have been a technical request. But maybe WP:SNOW quickly. :-) -- JHunterJ (talk) 21:56, 25 January 2018 (UTC)- Wait a moment https://www.google.com/search?tbo=p&tbm=bks&q=%22Vasilisa+was%22&num=10 do these book results really indicate a name? In ictu oculi (talk) 22:40, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Zxcvbnm: the problem is that the dab page has been blanked here. But where does that leave the three films? In ictu oculi (talk) 22:57, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
- I think it's still fine for the name to be the primarytopic. None of those seem more important than the name itself.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 00:19, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- For starters, which 3 films? There were 4 fairy tales which are are not called "Valilisa", so they are invalid entrees for a disambig page, as my edit summary says. Second, the protagonists of these films are called Vasilisa, and they are listed in Vasilisa (name)#Fictional characters. Staszek Lem (talk) 00:35, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Oops, there was another film, redlinked Vasilisa (2000 film) delisted by JHunterJ (talk · contribs). In will be the only other entry and hence no dab page anyway. Staszek Lem (talk) 00:41, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Oops, once more. You were talking about films listed in this talk page above. OK. We we do have two more dab entrees (assuming the red one is OK). Still, Vasilisa (name) is the primary entry. Staszek Lem (talk) 00:47, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- But having those films on the page means the page has to be a (disambiguation) not a name page. The more natural solution here is as things were before J Hunter in good faith blanked the dab and redirected to (name). Simplest solution, restore the dab (which has to be done anyway), add the 3 films and leave (name) for those actually interested in the name. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:24, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- There was only one film, and it had no coverage on Wikipedia. If and when it is covered on Wikipedia, then a disambiguation page Vasilisa (disambiguation) can be created if they cannot be handled in a hatnote. Either way, if the name is the primary topic (and it currently is and likely will be so when the films are covered), then the name article should be at the base name. If in the future the name is no longer the primary topic, it can be moved then. -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:48, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- BTW, I didn't blank the page and redirect it. I cleaned the page and left it with just single-name folklore characters, the single-name child martyr, and the link to the name. Staszek turned that into a redirect to the name page (after relocating those topics to the name-holder list on the name page). I did "delist" the film because it had no WP article to link to (that I could find at the time). Now that it has been added to Simon Verhoeven by In ictu oculi, reader navigation can be served by a hatnote on the name page once it's at the base name. -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:55, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Correct, Staszek blanked the page - which fair enough, the page hadn't been properly completed, and only 1 of the 3 films was listed, and incorrectly. But now back to where we are. One way or another there are going to be (disambiguation) and (name) pages, the only issue is locating them. The most bandwidth friendly solution would be the status quo. To have a short dab at the base line allowing readers to head off to the fairy story of their choice. the name article is only getting 40 of 400 daily page views. On that basis Oppose, restore dab page (properly completed with all 4 films) to status quo. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:37, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- You are still assuming a disambiguation page. There needn't be one. The films "Vasilisa the Beautiful" are PTMs, and could be listed at Vasilisa the Beautiful (disambiguation). The 2000 film can be served by a hatnote on the name article at the base title. But, based on the page views, yeah, one of the folklore pages seems a likelier choice if there were a primary topic, so striking this !vote and revoting below. -- JHunterJ (talk) 15:38, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose per page views provided by In icti oculi. -- JHunterJ (talk) 15:38, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose per above reasons, now that it's not the only dab page. Paintspot Infez (talk) 23:58, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
