Article needs geography, history and producers sections, as well as photos. I've taken it as far as I can at the moment. mikaul 10:50, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article name

[edit]

How do folks feel about moving the article to Venetian wine to be more consistent with other regional wine articles like Languedoc wine, Italian wine, French wine etc? AgneCheese/Wine 10:22, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fine by me Agne, I never liked the name and didn't realise it was synonymous. mikaul 01:43, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Venetian implies belonging to Venice the city, the adjective from Veneto is Venetan (see eg

[1] )In fact unlike the country articles, a lot of the regional articles don't try to make an adjective - Alsace wine, Chablis (wine) and so on, so I would go for Veneto wine. Although the approved Wikipedia style is "X of Y" FlagSteward 09:18, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If I remember right, I adapted an earlier article with this name and I have no fondness for it's present form. Veneto is certainly right (see the article) for regional produce and apart fom being consistent with other wine articles, Veneto wine sounds better. mikaultalk 10:32, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I also reacted to the name, didn't see any objections above, so I performed the move. Tomas e (talk)

This discussions is quite old and Wikipedia customs have probably changed since, but still I would like to explain myself here. I moved the article to "Venetian wine", in line with Italian wine, French wine, Spanish wine, etc. This is also consistent to all the en.Wikipedia articles referring to people/things related to Veneto. I would also argue that Veneto is not a wine region per se. Quite differently, it is a collection of wine regions or part of a broader wine region known as "Tre Venezie" or "Triveneto". Consequently, this article has refers (and has always referred) to the wines produced in Veneto, one the 20 regions of Italy. --Checco (talk) 07:54, 26 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Venezie

[edit]

This article refers to three regions collectively known as Venezie, but doesn't list them, and Venezie is a dead link. We should make the link and list the regions.Jmldalton (talk) 22:11, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
