VIJAYA BOW - THE BOW OF LORD SIVA

[edit]

I am surprised to see this article vandalised and filled up with entirely with wrong and foolish information. When I created this page i added the information that it was the bow of siva, later gifted to Indra and then to Parasurama.

The present article (now) describe it as the bow of Indra and created for Indra.Totally wrong info. The bow which is describe here is a bow gifted to DRONA by Lord Indra and later Drona gifted this bow to one of his student (dont know his name, but defenitly not Karna!!)

I am replacing all the wrong contents with correct data and if any have a counter opinion LETS TALK!! Arjunkrishna90 (talk) 09:53, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct that it is Shiva's bow.

But your edits also are somewhat vandalizing the article. Terrible, terrible grammar. You include a long, unnecessary quote (the article is about Vijaya. NOT Karna). Pinkfloyd11 (talk) 02:12, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion of a proposed consolidated Weapons of power in Hindu mythology article is at Talk:Kurukshetra War#New article proposed - "Weapons of power in Hindu epics". --Bejnar (talk) 15:37, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not a good article

[edit]

This article is having lot of grammar mistakes. It's very clear that someone edited this article in a hurry manner so as to let many people read his/her view. Moreover lot of boasting is done with regard to a bow. I don't believe a bow can make a man invincible. It's all the man's potential which makes him great. Ok. Let Vijaya bow make man invincible. Then in such a case, a small kid who doesn't know archery also becomes invincible. It's not correct that Vijaya bow makes man invincible because Lord Parashurama was defeated by Bhishma even when he had Vijaya bow in his hands. It's also mentioned that ordinary people can't lift the bow. It's not "Shiva dhanush/Pinakin" so that other people can't lift. So I conclude that this article is not upto the mark. Lot of corrections have to be made regarding grammar & even content. Karna DV (talk) 15:24, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Karna DV (talk) 15:19, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

owner of vijaya bow and shiva's vijaya

[edit]

I found that @Chronikhiles changed my edit which i added with proof. I can clearly provide proofs of everything i added.

1) vijaya bow have no connection to shiva even karna whom the editor says as the owner of the bow says that. It is clearly states that vijaya bow is created for Indra not for shiva. The Vijaya made for shiva is Trishul which we see with him.

2) Vishyampayana is the Narrator of mahabarata, he clearly states that RUKMI owns the Real Vijaya, i don't know why you don't approve his words.

3) Karna might had a bow named Vijaya but there is no proof that what he owe is the Mighty Vijaya which is equal to Gandiva. Only proof we find in mahabarata is Karn's word.

Its Karn's word against Vaishyampayana. According to my knowledge Vaishyampayana is more trust worthy source that karna himself. Shaktyavesh (talk) 16:15, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Shaktyavesh I reverted your inclusions because you've copy pasted large pieces of content, which is WP:COPYVIO. You have a history of doing this and have already been informed this is against Wikipedia policy, as evidenced by your talkpage. I'd highly encourage you to familiarise yourself with this website's policies before making further edits to this encyclopedia.Chronikhiles (talk) 01:50, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Chronikhiles Sorry about that, but those contents are not copyright protected.
1) The Sanskrit verse is from pulic domain called bombay.indology.info,which is available for public use without copy right.
2) The english book by Kisari Mohan Ganguli is no longer protected under copyright because the author passed away in 1908, so its over 116 years ago so that book is no longer under copyright protetion. So if yo accept this reason, /Is it possile or me to re add those 'proofs' and also remove the warning on my wall ?
