Viktor Gurniak → Viktor Hurniak – +1 --Микола Василечко (talk) 16:21, 8 June 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. –Ammarpad (talk) 17:03, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
- English-language sources seem to use "Gurniak": [1] [2]. This article is currently mostly a memorial, which is deprecated under WP:NOTMEMORIAL. I am not sure whether it can be rewritten to be encyclopedic in tone, but it needs to be attempted. Dekimasuよ! 20:17, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
- [3] - not authoritative. There as well Lugansk, but see Luhansk. And also [4], the same. So these sources need to be renamed article Luhansk on Lugansk? --Микола Василечко (talk) 04:47, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose: English sources prefer Gurniak, and even his Facebook is at "Gurniak". Since there is also no rationale given I see no reason to support. By the way, Lugansk/Luhansk has nothing to do with this. Prinsgezinde (talk) 17:53, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
- Support. Subject was Ukrainian, not Russian and, as already been indicated in previous such discussions, such as Oleg Sentsov → Oleh Sentsov at Talk:Oleg Sentsov#Requested move 21 October 2016, Russian language has no letter "H/h" and Ukrainian language has no letter "G/g". The same letter, "Г/г" is pronounced as "G/g" in Russian and as "H/h" in Ukrainian. That explains the example of Lugansk (Russian name) and Luhansk (Ukrainian name).
As for examples of "Viktor Hurniak", there are plenty of English-language ones — 1) EuroMaidan Press, 2) Censor.net, 3) William's Euromaidan Chronicle, 4) Ukrinform, 5) mapy.cz, 6) The Day, 7) New Pathway, 8) Trip Advisor, 9) Kyiv Post, 10) imi.org.ua, etc. Our own Wikimedia Commons uses Category:Viktor Hurniak and Category:Funeral of Viktor Hurniak. [edit]Why not Hurniak? He didn`t call himself Gurniak(Ґурняк), but Hurniak (Гурняк).--Viiictorrr (talk) 21:04, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
