Why is this page not String Quartet ‘Voces intimae’, Op.56 (Sibelius)?

[edit]

The composition was not titled Voces intimæ by Sibelius himself, but acquired the nickname over the years. The correct procedure, then, would be to entitle the page String Quartet in D minor ‘Voces intimae’, Op.56 (Sibelius).

@Rconroy:@Gerda Arendt: I agree... the title should be String Quartet in D minor, Voces intimae, with Voces intimae being a redirect, as well as String Quartet (Sibelius). I'll do it, but I'll need Gerda, please, to inform me of the proper procedures. Silence of Järvenpää (talk) 18:42, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No. (Sorry.) If it's a string quartet with a nickname added later, the correct name would by String Quartet in D minor (Sibelius), or if his string quartets are numbered, String Quartet No. x (Sibelius). Compare Piano Sonata No. 14 (Beethoven). No catalogue numbers and nicknames in titles. Yes, redirects as you like them. You can move into the redirect if that has not been modified, - otherwise call an admin for help. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:55, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@El C: Hi, admin! One more please. As Gerda says, we need this to be renamed 'String Quartet in D minor (Sibelius)', with the redirects being 'Voces intimae' and 'String Quartet (Sibelius)'. Many, many thanks! Silence of Järvenpää (talk) 20:14, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I was faster ;) - and you could have done it yourself. I wonder if it could just be String Quartet (Sibelius) if it was his only one worth an article. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:00, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh dear, I moved it to D major instead of D minor, shouldn't do things fast late, - now we really need an admin, and I think just String Quartet might be best. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:04, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Gerda Arendt: I approve of dropping the key form the title, since that makes it consistent with Violin Concerto (Sibelius); fyi: there are four complete quartets by Sibelius, but the first three are from his juvenilia and the series is not numbered 1–4. [No. 4], Voces intimae, as it were is the only one that would have the notability to have its own page. If I ever get around to writing about this quartet, I'll of course mention the others as background. Silence of Järvenpää (talk) 22:21, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
