Michael Joyce's book shows Bunch playing for Eastville Rovers between appearing for Wolves in the Football League 1896/97 season and appearing for Walsall in the 1899/1900 FL season. Matthews' Wolves book has him moving directly from Wolves to Walsall in 1899. A Bristol Rovers book confirms that a W. Bunch "scored against Kidderminster Harriers in the Birmingham & District League on 23 March 1898 and played in the Gloucestershire Cup final on 26 February 1898". A theory which would fit the sourced facts says that as Bunch only played in Wolves' first team in 1896, they let him play for Eastville Rovers but retained his Football League registration. So that although his FL transfer was direct from Wolves to Walsall in 1899, he did play for Eastville in between. Other theories are that Joyce has his Bunches mixed up or that Matthews is mistaken about the direct transfer. Struway2 (talk) 15:30, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
