MUSIC PROGRAM

[edit]

I think it's appropriate to update the students participated in the Wheatley High School in music program. While NEA Master Hubert Laws is listed in notable alumni, it's hardly the recognition the program, at that time led by Sammy Harris deserves. It's my view that it would also be appropriate to mention, briefly, the other members of the Modern Jazz Sextet inc. Laws, given their later prominence as the 9x Grammy nominated Crusaders. Laws is also 3x Grammy nominated. https://www.si.edu/media/NMAH/NMAH-AC0808_Laws_Hubert_Transcript.pdf https://www.grammy.com/grammys/artists/hubert-laws/16983Cathcam (talk) 21:30, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I do not understand the problem with the message board link. See, the guideline states links *normally* to be avoided, so there is no hard and fast rule. WhisperToMe 05:00, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And http://hs.houstonisd.org/wheatleyhs/ is the school's old URL WhisperToMe (talk) 17:54, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
