The result of the move request was no consensus to move. Even ignoring the straight voting (which, though it also showed no consensus to move, is not how we determine things here), the only actual discussion I could find on this topic is several weeks old, lacked consensus, and contained no convincing evidence either for or against the move. -kotra (talk) 23:04, 16 September 2009 (UTC) kotra (talk) 23:04, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

White-bellied ParrotWhite-bellied Caique — Parrots of this genus are popularly known as caiques. The name Caique is immediately recognisable and reduces confusion with other parrot names. Snowman (talk) 10:25, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Support

[edit]
  1. As I did at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Birds#Parrot_move_suggestions_from_IOC_name_to_non-IOC_name. Consider this as a reiteration of my !vote there, if required. --Kurt Shaped Box (talk) 16:56, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Support, as nominator. Snowman (talk) 09:54, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose

[edit]
  1. Still oppose. To open a new vote at a different place seems to me a case of forum shopping just because the nominator does not like the earlier outcome. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 13:31, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose again , object to forum shopping, Sabine's Sunbird talk 19:33, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  3. happy with IOC names. Maias (talk) 00:06, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Why do we have to vote on all of these 20 times? Natureguy1980 (talk) 16:10, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What's with the capitalization? I'd think that this isn't a proper name, and therefore should be uncapitalized. Jafeluv (talk) 23:27, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bird name are generally capitalized. Once there is a standard name (IOC), it becomes a proper noun. I agree, the propose alternative should be considered a common noun, as it is not an official name. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 03:36, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What's with the separate sections for "support" and "oppose"? We don't decide things here by voting, you know. -GTBacchus(talk) 13:55, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
