White Hart lane name
[edit]This article claims that the stadium White Hart Lane is called that because of the station, however this is untrue, as Tottenham say so in their Junior newsletter. It is known as White Hart Lane due to the White Hart pub that once stood next to the ground. Turn to page 13 in this: http://tottenhamhotspur.digitaleditions.co.uk/spring2011/
That was made by THFC themselves and sent to all their junior members via email —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.144.76.109 (talk) 11:48, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Chains??
[edit]It is 7 miles 11 chains (11.5 km) from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Bruce Grove and Silver Street. It is in Travelcard zone 3.
Really? Chains? Why are we using such an archaic units? David G (talk) 00:13, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
- @DavidCWG: Because that's what the sources use. See Talk:East Croydon station#Chains; Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK Railways/Archive 42#Chains, again; Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK Railways/Archive 42#Clean up of Chain (unit); Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK Railways/Archive 43 (throughout); Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK Railways/Archive 44#Units and conversion; Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK Railways/Archive 44#Chains- the position on 8th August 2018; Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers/Archive 158#Distances measured in chains; and Talk:Chain (unit)#Attempt to clean up the lede and the article (to the end of the page). Let's not go through all that again. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:18, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
