Victor or Wictor?

[edit]

Of the three online sources, all refer to him as "Victor" (including his birth certificate). The move back in 2009 to Wictor stated that this was the spelling in Våre falne. I am proposing moving the article unless there are good reasons to presume that Wictor is the common spelling of his name. Arsenikk (talk) 09:35, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    • I don't really know the subject in depth, but a 3-1 outnumbering doesn't exactly support one version or the other regarding "commonness" of spelling. Regarding the birth record, it can be erroneous, or the name could have changed later. Geschichte (talk) 21:36, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • I vote for the deletion of the Wictor Esbensen page and the reinstating of the original page Viktor Esbensen on the basis that a birth record is highest quality of documentation one can have and certainly is more important then the spelling from the book "Våre falne" which no one can actually confirm exists.
