Conflict of interest and Sullivan Entertainment promotional material

[edit]

I've tagged this article as WP:COI and started trimming some of the more overtly promotional material recently added. See this discussion at WP:COIN for more details. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 16:50, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Southern Ontario, not Northern Ontario?

[edit]

Well if it was based on a small mining town in Northern Ontario then why wasn't it filmed in Northern Ontario? Instead of Northumberland, Southern Ontario?

If you were making a movie whose story was based on New York City ... would you film it in Omaha?

Why is everything in Canada done nowadays in Southern Ontario?

--Atikokan (talk) 17:08, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is done in filming all the time. Movies that take place in New York City are filmed in Toronto and the like. The reasoning behind it is lack of filming infrastructure in Northern Ontario and lower cost. -DJSasso (talk) 19:00, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So, are you saying that there is no "filming infrastructure" in New York City?
Having said all that, I realize now I was wrong in assuming that this series took place in Northern Ontario. It was Cape Breton. But argument remains the same: the hinterland. As in, Southern Ontario steals the spirit of the rest of Canada (98% of Canada lies outside Southern Ontario).
Don't get me wrong. A) I like Toronto. B) Wind at my Back is a wonderful series. I just wish that Canada wasn't so focused on one tiny little region, whereas the United States embraces its hinterland.

Two Honey Baileys

[edit]

Why were there two actresses cast as Honey Bailey?--Reverend Edward Brain, D.D. (talk) 22:18, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Presumably the first actress left. What I'm interested in knowing is why the show was "unexpectedly" canceled after the fifth season. DS (talk) 14:03, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
