proper romanization of the name?

i am wondering if we should really be calling him xu shiying rather than hsu shih-ying. Obviously the latter is more commonly used, and by the time hanyu pinyin came into popular usage it was evidently no longer applicable for mr. hsu. just in case there is any other opinion... otherwise I am tempted to change it, and to do so with all the other early chinese thinkers of this period.
