Really "electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)"?

[edit]

There are 2 different "electro shock therapies":

  • Aversion therapy with electro shocks (mild, but painful shocks to bodyparts) Aversion therapy can also made with drugs which make ill. This is a behavior therapy to unlearn addictions.
  • Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) (shocks with much more power to the brain, triggering epileptic events, muscle contraction, the "convulsion") Until today (with some important changes) it is used for depression and shizophrenia. There are also "shock therapies" with drugs, i.e. insulin. There are no reports of good results with addiction.

And there is very much confusion about this two. I had even read about the non existing "electroconvulsive aversion therapy". --Franz (Fg68at) de:Talk 20:29, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yang generally uses ECT (电休克) in his pre-2009 interviews -- see zh:电击法治疗网络成瘾#DX-IIA电休克治疗仪 for description on his device. --Artoria2e5 emits crap 06:22, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For the record: random vandalisms not reverted until now

[edit]

Following User:MaigoAkisame's edits, I found out this batch of vandalisms by Special:Contributions/2A02:C7F:805:E000:28F0:DAF8:54FD:C1FF:

This seems to explain the absurd "castrated male patients" part. --Artoria2e5 emits crap 23:50, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Is the 战网魔 and IAD website content could be considered as evidence?

[edit]

I think IAD is not meet the standard of evidence because Yang's methods are hard to confirm. However, 战网魔 can be a evidence if ignore the extreme approval attitute to Yang. I want to ask for other Wikipedians' opinion. Mariogoods (talk) 01:29, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
